بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌۭ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ۝١

Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring),

ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ ۝٢

those who demand a full measure from others

وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ ۝۳

but when they measure or weigh, give less.

أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ ۝٤

Do they not realize that they will be resurrected

لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ ۝٥

on a great day

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ۝٦

when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe?

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍۢ ۝۷

Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌۭ ۝۸

Would that you knew what Sijin is!?

كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ ۝۹

It is a comprehensively written Book (of records).

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ۝١۰

Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations

ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ۝١١

and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment.

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ ۝١٢

No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors

إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۝١۳

who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends".

كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ۝١٤

They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds.

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ ۝١٥

On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord.

ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ۝١٦

They will suffer the heat of fire

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ۝١۷

and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie".

كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ ۝١۸

However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ۝١۹

Would that you knew what Illiyin is!

كِتَٰبٌۭ مَّرْقُومٌۭ ۝٢۰

It is a comprehensively written Book (of records).

يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ۝٢١

The ones nearest to God will bring it to public.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ ۝٢٢

The virtuous will live in bliss,

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ۝٢۳

reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them).

تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ۝٢٤

You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss.

يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍۢ مَّخْتُومٍ ۝٢٥

They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers

خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌۭ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ ۝٢٦

which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire.

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ ۝٢۷

With the wine is a drink from Tasnim,

عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ۝٢۸

a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ ۝٢۹

The sinners had been laughing at the believers.

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ۝۳۰

When passing by them, they would wink at one another

وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ ۝۳١

and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done.

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ ۝۳٢

On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray".

وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ ۝۳۳

No one has appointed them to watch over the believers.

فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ۝۳٤

On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ۝۳٥

while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them).

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ ۝۳٦

Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers?
